Jewelry making has been a hobby of mine since I was young. I don’t do it often, but it’s nice to have it when I want to feel productive, stress free, and far away from the computer. In 2012 I started an etsy shop for it, and named it Perseidas after a childhood memory of watching the meteor shower in the summer, in a tiny fisherman’s village in the south of Portugal. The whole branding is supposed to somehow reflect that memory, and have a feeling of uniqueness: each item is one-of-a-kind, and so I made sure the packaging was extra special to show that. The logo is based on the constellation of Perseus (the area in the sky where the shooting stars “seem” to originate) and the letter P. The “lunar” landscape used all over the branding is an altered picture of the beach where I would spend those summers.
